Farm Scale Water Storage Forum

Following the demise of the Wakamoekau Community Water Storage Scheme, individual primary producers need to consider the options that are available for them to develop their own storage to future proof their production system.
As the regulatory environment places more limitations on accessing water, developing farm-scale storage that is potentially filled in high water periods, is one way to create enough buffer to get through the restrictions.
The Wairarapa Water Users Society is staging a FREE public forum to inform and motivate the Wairarapa primary producers that will allow informed decisions to be made. We recognise that the issue is not just relevant to our members but to the wider business community as we are all connected in this region’s economy.
We also recognise that Wairarapa has both hill country and alluvial flats, and so the options for each situation will be addressed.
