Phil Cox

Following a background in the UK Military and then UK and NZ Government, I settled (finally!) in the Wairarapa.

Building upon a background of Engineering (Electronics and Communications), I was registered as a Chartered Engineer in 2008 and became a Certified Management Consultant in 2015.

I am a director at Avalon Marketing & Website Design Ltd, where I work with local businesses to understand how they work and to identify opportunities for “doing things better”.

I work with a number of initiatives focussed on improving the local community including: Wairarapa Youth Charitable Trust, 5 Towns Trail Trust, Greytown Trails Trust, Greytown Country Market, Greytown School BMX track and “parkrun”.  I am also on the Board of the charity “Retired Working Dogs NZ”.

My passion is improving business effectiveness and, in my spare time, enjoy exploring the Wairarapa with my wife Karen and an ever-changing assortment of foster and permanent dogs.
