WaiHost – Courageous Conversations

This workshop will help supervisors become more confident and proficient with initiating and conducting conversations which lead to improved performance, improved morale, and improved productivity.

Workshop Objectives

By the end of this workshop, you will:

• Understand what a courageous conversation is.
• Increase your confidence in having courageous conversations.
• Able to state your concerns directly.
• Be able to probe for information, using open-ended questions, pause and silence.
• Demonstrate the ability to engage using active listening.
• Confidently read others’ body language and attend to own and others.
• Understand how to keep forward focus, be clear about future expectations, and what happens next and gain agreement.
• Know how to maintain safety in a conversation.
• Be confident in handling difficult situations.
• Create a conversation template around:
  • Poor performance,
  • Good performance, and
  • Outstanding Performance.
